Here we are in mid November already. The late summer kept me out of "squash mode" but now with a few snow flakes floating around, the mode is settling in... Entries and posters are out for our first event of the year, the Balmoral Legal Centre Northwestern Ontario Open Squash Tournament....that is a mouthful, eh? You can find the poster and entry forms under our "Events" link. Court Jesters has really become popular this year with 47 players signed up. The Complex, as requested by players, changed the format to a box ladder and that has caused the dramatic increase in registration. From all reports, it is being well received. Court Time is up and running again, with 18 players this fall. This too, is a result of player's feedback.…

Winter Sans Frills Tournament

This tournament has come and gone. From my observations, it was well received by the players. Having not run a tournament for several years, there are many new players in Thunder Bay. It was nice to see the kids of some past players out as well, and so the cycle continues..... 37 players in all took part, in 5 divisions. Results can be found here

New Tournament

Members of The Court Time Squash League have banded together to create a new tournament for Thunder Bay players. This tournament is a no frills tournament, aptly named the "Winters Sans Frills Squash Tournament", meaning that it does not include many of the perks associated with a larger tournament, such as t-shirts and extras. It is a non-sponsored tournament meaning less work for the organizers and saving our many generous sponsors for the larger events held in season.  The idea is simply to give our local players a chance to test their skills against players they might not be playing regularly, in a competitive atmosphere. The tournament also runs on a Thursday to Saturday schedule, thus saving Sunday for other commitments. Please check out the  Events page for more info…
